The spaces where the rules are uncertain and the boundaries can be compromised open the portals for shifting expected, normal and predictable in the position of productive confusion. “Grey Zones” wear no ideological colours and positions: they are the spaces of possible. METASITU and Avenir Institute embarked on the journey of transdisciplinary research of the notion of “greyness” in personal, spacial and political dimensions, which are intersecting with one another in synergic way. Can “greyness” be a transitional space from hierarchical to rhizomathic formation of institutions? Is it a lifestyle, a combination of life hacks, a space of authentic freedom? Can it be wielded in a concious strategy of acquiring power?
The lecture is a result of the first stage of the joint research of METASITU and Avenir Institute started at the Penthouse Art Residency.
METASITU is transdisciplinary collective of Eduardo Cassina (ES) and Liva Dudareva (LV), based in Athens.
